Summary
Hi, I'm Alex. An IT engineer with over 5 years of experience in Technical Support and
Systems Administration in both an MSP and internal environment. In that time I've had
the opportunity to get hands on experience with a lot of different technologies, the
Microsoft Stack, Google Workspace and MacOS to name a few. I'm excited to keep
expanding my knowledge and hone my skills in the IT industry.

Respond to service-related support tickets, calls, and monitoring alerts via remote
service desk for commercial and educational customers nationwide. This includes
responding to major incidents, handling escalations from other support, field, and
on-site engineers, and working with third-parties when required.
Provided guidance and assistance to junior service desk engineers whenever it
was needed.
Applied my knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and VLANs, in the setting up and
troubleshooting of networking of devices and servers.
Used Microsoft Intune to manage end user devices and deploy packaged
applications.
Supported virtualization including creating and maintaining Hyper-V hosts and
virtual machines
First point of contact on the service desk to handle major incidents and service
desk escalations nationwide.
Used my knowledge of Powershell to automate various service desk processes,
thus freeing up time for other tasks.

satellite offices of council run operations.
Experienced with supporting a wide range of customers such as the elected
members of council, all levels of executive management, stakeholders from various
departments and third parties needing access to council systems.
Creating and maintaining documentation of common issues and their fixes in a
knowledge base allowing staff to self-resolve issues.
Successfully lead the deployment of various systems throughout council to
improve quality of life for staff members.
New Remote Desktop farm to replace the existing infrastructure, improving
performance for the end user, in turn increasing work output.
Equipping branch sites and meeting rooms with the gear required to work
remotely and have virtual meetings in COVID-19 times.
Software deployment and inventory tool (PDQ) for use by IT staff, allowing
centralised management and reporting of all council owned devices.
